Many of us might not know who John Hughes is. I came to know about him, last weekend, when I watched the movie “The Breakfast Club”. Its one of my favorite movies. I never expected to hear about him so soon, and worst, the news of his demise. I also came to realize, he made another light-hearted funny movie “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”. I enjoyed as much watching this movie too. He scripted/produced “Home Alone”. I still barely remember when I watched this movie in theater for the first time, as I was around 9 yrs old. He also scripted another favorite movie of mine, “Pretty in Pink”. John Hughes is one of those talented people, who created timeless classics, that are fresh and speak about universal themes. For instance, “Home Alone” is about childhood pranks and adventures, “The Breakfast Club” talks about adolescence and parent children relationships, “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”, about college bunk adventure, “Pretty in Pink”, about love and loss. The movie industry has lost a great talent. Many aspiring directors can learn a lot from his creations. May he rest in peace.
